With technology growing day by day, online shopping is becoming popular amongst the people around the world and is taking the place of in-person shopping. Do the pros of this phenomena outweigh the cons?
Having online shops growing day by day, the shopping in stores and malls is becoming less withspread amongst people and this will lead to less interactions and social gatherings in every population. What I mean is that, while many people might need to have more social interactions these days, due to the popularity of online shopes, the negligible chance of people meeting each other in local stores or in malls is getting less and maybe vanishing at all. At this stage, the quick growth of these online shopes could even lead to peoples anxiety and depression as it is a part of human nature to be in public and this natural instinct is being suppresed by this action. The other view point could be that, with people using online shops regularly, they could become lazier and unwanting to do some excersices. This can lead to physical illnesses as well as mental ones.
On the other hand, with people doing their shoppings virtually and online, the quality of air could become better due to less commution with cars and using gas and oils. In other words if people shop mostly online, less transportation vehicles would be used for going to and from stores and with that happening, the whole planet could have a better air quality. As an example, green areas like forests in which less vehicles are used, have a better air quality than urban areas. The other point that could be important, is that online shopping provide a good opportunity for unable and less able people such as elderly and paralized people to do their shopping in a more reliable and easier way without the help of others.
All in all, in my opinion there are more benefits than disadvantages in this development. Because it might be easier for people to compensate the view points that are discussed against online shopping, but it would take more time, energy and also resources to fix issues that could affect peoples lives globally such as global air pollution.
