If the government provides well-paying jobs in diverse areas, especially in remote regions, it would help local communities sustain themselves and meet essential needs such as healthcare and education. One way to achieve this is by building infrastructure to process natural resources in these areas. A good example is Polewali Mandar in Indonesia, where the local government partnered with Chinese investors to establish factories that process metals into household items like spoons. Many local residents were employed and offered salaries comparable to those in major cities, reducing their desire to migrate for work.
