It is true that nowadays, in many countries, parents are teaching their kids at home and they are not sending their children at school. While there are some advantages of this trend, I believe that the demerits outweigh the merits.
Most importantly, there are several reasons why I think that the disadvantages of this trend outweigh the advantages. One possible reason is that homeschooling cannot improve the communication skill of a child. Actually, when a child goes to school, he can meet different kinds of children and he makes new friends and talk with his friends as well as teachers about different thinks that helps to improve their communication, debating, and thinking ability. However, if we do not send our children in schools, how would they learn about thinks or whom would they talk to? In addition, in order to improve the problem-solving ability, we have to send children in outdoor schools. For example, when a person faces any problem, he thinks the way of solution. Similarly, our children will think about new problems, when they will face problems. Therefore, if we do not send them outside, they may not be expert in problem-solving. Another possible reason is that sending children to outdoor schools help to develop their team working ability. For instance, in outdoor schools, children are given different team working tasks and they solve those tasks team wise. Therefore, unless we let our children go to outdoor schools, they may not work in team in the future. Finally, children can take part in outdoor activities provided that they are sent to educational institutes.
Despite the above advantages of outdoor schools, some people often think that homeschool is the best place for children and there are some causes. Firstly, many people think that homeschool is a safe place for a child. For example, at present, many criminals try to kidnap children from schools and demand money. For this reason, many parents try to teach their children at home. Moreover, if a child spend time at homeschool, he or she can learn about tradition, rules, cultures, and so on of his family and society. Last but not least, it is an era of science and technology, therefore, children can learn new things, such as new language, skills, and so on, at home by using mobile phone and the internet, and homeschool allows them to spend time with family members.
In conclusion, although homeschooling provides safety, can teach about culture and tradition of families, outdoor schools can improve communication skill, problem-solving ability, thinking ability, team working ability, and they can provide knowledge regarding world. Therefore, I think outdoor schools are more beneficial to develop children’s knowledge and skills.
