The debate over whether workers should be entitled to retain all their income without paying tax to the nation is multifaceted. Personally, I oppose this viewpoint, believing that it is totally inequitable and unjust for governments due to the below reasons.
Admittedly, those who believe that it is justifiable to keep all their hard-earned money rather than contribute to the tax system have their own standpoint. They may argue that the money they get is what they deserve after long hours of dedication to working while the government does nothing to assist with them but still compel them to allocate part of their compensation to the state budget. However, this belief overlooks the benefits and conveniences they enjoy daily, which largely come from the tax revenues. For example, the public transport system enables many people to commute to work quickly and conveniently with various choices from buses to elevated railways, etc. at no additional charge or an economical toll.
In my opinion, contributing to the tax system should be viewed as a way to collectively develop the overall quality of a country and enhance living standards. Indeed, tax money offers the public in various realms, including education, healthcare, transportation, recreational amenities, etc. Take Denmark as an example. Although this is one of the countries requiring by far the highest tax rate per individual in the world, citizens are still pleased to pay taxes annually because they are served with free educational access, advanced medication, and the cutting-edge transportation system, all of which dedicate to their overall satisfaction and well-being. As a result, I reckon that taxes are a necessary contribution to the common good, ensuring that essential services are available to all citizens.
In conclusion, I absolutely disagree with those who hold a thought of keeping all of their earnings rather than paying taxes, given all the conveniences they are given through tax budget. However, the states need to be wary of reasonable tax payment to ensure that there is no pressure of earning money on citizens.
