Nowadays, residents are likely to use more and more only-use items such as plastic bags, which leads to many effects. My essay will analyze both causes and feasible solutions to this problem.
There are a lot of reasons for this issue. Firstly, the cost of plastic bags is reasonable and even cheaper than other kinds of bags. Indeed, people will buy cheap plastic bags instead of expensive bags or baskets which are just used for shopping. Using this only-use item is not only reasonable but also easy because the shopkeepers even can even give their customers plastic bags for free. Secondly, the plastic bag is so convenient. We cannot deny that these bags are really small and light. People often choose it because they can bring it wherever, so going shopping becomes more convenient, especially with women who don’t have as much strength as men to carry their necessities.
However, this problem can be solved by a lot of solutions. First and foremost, we can replace the plastic bags with baskets and cloth bags. They are environmentally friendly and can be reused many times. If people don’t have much money for an expensive cloth bag, they can either choose another one which is reasonable or make a bag by themselfves. Last but not least, the shopkeepers can change the way of using plastic bags are used. They might collect fees if their customers want to use this item. As a result, people will carry their own bags instead of using the shop’s plastic bags, which helps reduce the demand of consuming plastic items.
In conclusion, despite the fact that reducing plastic bags is a problem for residents all over the world, there are numerous viable solutions to counteract this issue.
