It is often argued that individual’s physical looks influence person’s achievement in educational institution, in relationships with others and choice of career options. This essay totally disagrees with this notion as appearances cannot ever compensate for the talent and hard work required to gain success in life. I believe that it is negative factor for judging people on their appearances to quantify their success.
Physical appearance can never replace immense efforts and inbuilt talent necessary for gaining success in all aspects of the life. It is totally incorrect to see the outer beauty as a source for getting successful easily. Many famous personalities like Ratan Tata, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates and Stephen Hawkings have achieved great things because of their smartness, talent and eagerness to work hard towards their goal. They did not reach to this level of achievement due to their fashion sense or grooming abilities.
The judgement of success given according to the way person appears is very negative factor as people will began to care more about their looks rather than working on improving their talents. It is very shallow of a person to only look at outer beauty and overlook inner qualities. I agree that appearing presentable is important but other qualification are more crucial to become successful. For instance, in an interview, person with more skills and qualifications will be hired rather than good looking person with less qualifications.
To conclude, physical appearance does not determine person’s success in all aspects of life such as relationships, career and education as looks cannot replace talent and efforts. Hence, I believe it is negative factor to judge individual’s level of success based on their outer looks.
