Nowadays, the number of crimes that are committed by youngsters is increasing significantly and many people believe prison is the best punishment for young offenders. They mention that it would be the best solution for this problem and can help to prevent crimes in the future. In my view, their comments are absolutely correct and reasonable.
To begin with, I would like to point out that prison is the cheapest way for the governments to punish adolescents. What I mean is that they will not spend huge amounts of money renting some accommodation or hiring professionals to re-educate criminals. In other words, prisons will provide a minimum of essential things without huge spendings.
Next, it seems to me that other forms of punishment are not really effective. They do not punish teenagers severely and do not reflect the real issue of their actions. As a result, young criminals would continue committing crimes because they will not feel any danger of bad consequences
Lastly, in my opinion, it is important to remove criminals from society , even if they are young, so they will not have a chance to repeat their crimes. In addition, some crimes are serious enough that prisons must protect others. For example, some murderers will kill more people if they do not serve a sentence in a cell.
In conclusion, in my opinion, prison is the most effective way to deal with young offenders. It shows them the real effect of crimes and provides safety for society.
