In the modern era, scientists recognized that colors have a great impact on the human mind. Thus, the design of any building whether it is an office or hospital needs to be concerned about color used for decorations more than color affecting human feeling.
First of all, the office construction model relates to the usage format. For instance, in a factory, there is a bright color floor since it is easy to detect when materials fall down. This can reduce accidents from stepping on those materials or walking in a risky area. The second reason is budget, adding color decoration needs to spend more money not only on buying materials and equipment but also on hiring a good architect to design. Another reason is that color preference is a matter depending on each person. One color may satisfy some people and make them feel good and productive, but it may give opposite findings to other people. Therefore, creating an office with colors that have a beneficial effect on all staff is impractical.
Similarly, it is crucial to be concerned about safety and cleanliness first in building any hospital. For example, an operation room must be green as the medical practitioners have to see the patient’s red blood all the time, causing a green afterimage and sometimes they may feel dizzy after staring at another color. Moreover, the color scheme also impacts the hospital floor which must be white because the floor is easy to be filthy all the time due to some dirt like blood or lymph. If the floor is white, it is easy to see and clean immediately.
To sum up, building any place must first consider space usage. Color is one of the main components that is important to help the employees work effectively, not just design suitably for human feeling.
