It is pointed out by some individuals that publishing data about crime on official platforms or television has consequences and should be handled carefully. Public safety and security are major issues. With increased security, I still hold the above-stated view and I will be providing reasons in the paragraph.
On the one hand, many reasons behind publishing information about crimes are to no advantage as it leads on various reasons. It may lead to unwise imitation and may cause unrest and commotion in public which may lead to undesirable incidents and violence. Many increasing criminal problems such as the matters used in the types of crime, mass protests recently in Nepal that caused mass panic which lead to many crimes like robbery. It should be done to reduce the rate of completion problems.
In the other hand, publishing crime to the public increases the public awareness so by knowing and crime people can be cautious in their daily routine lives. For example, a robbery and theft by gang, a neighborhood robber can take some quick measures to protect themselves. Another important reason involves better supports provided because a few media sources provide their victims’ crime reports also ensure to take a strong and effective measure to stop crime when the public demands. It often happens when the problem of crimes improves people get assured of safety measures as their risks are decreased to reduce the rate of completion problems to get given.
In conclusion, publishing detailed facts about crime can have dangerous outcomes, including the loss of peace and threat to public safety. However, restricting such information would also limit the right to know. Therefore, media organizations should present the information in a balanced manner that is appropriate for the public.
