Band 7+: Q. These days, more fathers stay at home and take care of their children, while mothers go out to work. What could be the reasons for this? Is this a positive or negative development?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Nowadays, in some families, men stop working and take care of their children, while women become the main earners. I believe that in many cases women can earn more money than men, so they take greater financial responsibility. However, if this trend continues, it could have negative consequences for family balance and society.

Although traditionally fathers were expected to work outside the home, in the modern world the roles of men and women have changed. In many families, women now take the main financial responsibility because there are more career opportunities for them, and in some cases they can earn money more easily than men. As a result, men choose to stay at home and take care of their children, while women become the main earners. For example, in many urban families, mothers work in well-paid professional jobs, while fathers are responsible for childcare and household duties.

This can be considered one of the worst developments because, in the long run, many families may break apart. If women earn more money than men, some may begin to imagine life without their partners and may end relationships without fear when problems occur. As a result, the number of broken families may increase, which creates serious problems for children, as they need love and care from both mothers and fathers. For example, nowadays many children feel unhappy because their parents are unable to reach agreements and eventually separate.

In conclusion, this situation leads to negative consequences. I believe it is better for fathers to take financial responsibility rather than having broken families. It is well known that family breakdown causes the greatest difficulties for children.
