A large amount of money is invested by authorities on renovations of old building in large cities. It is believed by a section of society that this money can be invested on constructing new houses and roads. I partially agree with the statement as old buildings provide livelihood and tourism to a nation.
There are various reasons that favour the statement the first one is to improve the quality of life of citizens. Many rural and urban areas have cracked and under-developed road that show the poor infrastructure of a country. For example, traffic congestion can be reduced by constructing more roads in an area. Therefore, people have more easy to travel and saves a lot of time by more roads. Moreover, more roads also help in transportation of goods. To elaborate it, many truck driver can reach their destination in less fewer hours. Hence, improves the trade export between states.
On the other hand, these funds can be invested to renovate old buildings as they contibute in economy of the country. People often visit them to see the creative designs and patterns because of unique architectural design. For instance, international people spent in accomodation and tickets of the building. As a result, country get more tourism and people’s spendings on country’s resorces. Moreover, these buildings provide employment to many workers. They have a job to interact with tourism and, to work as a watchman for which they are often paid by government. Therefore, these buildings provide livelihood to many people.
To conclude, although well developed roads are a basic need of citizens, i believe that authorities should invest money on old buildings as they contribe to a large extend in tourism and economy and their shine might diminish if they do not get proper time to time renovation.
