One of the recent problems with increasing poplulation is accomodating a large number of people with limited resources for accomodation. To tackle this situation, government is either making new homes or recreating it from the older ones. Some people believe that it is good to make new infrastructure rather than spending on renovating the existing buildings. However, I believe that state should focus on renovations instead of new development as it reutilize the area and affects the environment less.
To begin with, when authorities decide to make newer houses and roads, it is mostly done in return of sacrificing the agricultural land or forest land. Because of which deforestration happens and leading it to environmental damage such as climate change. One solution for this is for developing new homes and transportation facilities, barren land can be used which will help in keeping our surrounding safe. For example, in my area, municipality has acquired the unused place to build a new apartments.
Additionally, we have numerous public tenaments which occupy more space. Government can replace those with rebuilding improved flats as they require less area and it can inhouse more number of people without using extra land. Therefore, funds are more useful in rejuvinating the existed stuctures.
In conclusion, redevelopement is much more sustainable and ecofriendly option as it prevents the overusage of fertile land as well as providing the solution to handle large populace. Thus, I completely disagree with the statement that more money should be spent on constructing new houses and roads.
