It has been recently proposed that students should use video clips, computers and interactive games rather than normal books. While teaching by books is also cheaper and does not require lots of equipment, i believe that using visuals can make students feel interested in the lectures.
On the one hand, teaching a lesson through technology requires a high cost. The reason is that the governments ought to spend lots of public funds into digital devices such as: television, computers for each student. For example, students living in the mountains do not have modern facilities and also new books to read, they may receive old books from charity organizations so that applying technology in poor areas has a lot of disadvantages. Therefore, they are facing a significant number of fees: delivery cost, installation cost and also maintaining cost in the outskirts. In addition, there are concerns about tivi screens and its harmful effects on pupils’ health, including eye problems and reduced mental health.
On the other hand, there are several reasons why the headmaster should prefer using films, computers and games for students. Firstly, adding films and visuals relevant to their lesson can make them feel curious about what will be learned today and also easy to imagine the lesson’ context. Secondly, finding teaching resources on the Internet can save money and prevent waste pollution also. Therefore, it is essential for the local authorities to apply technology to teach students’s lesson from their benefits, particularly creating a positive study environment and reducing the level of deforestation.
In conclusion, although using books can offer cheaper prices and is convenient to bring, I argue that the benefits from applying technology methods are considerable.
