Nowadays, a large number of youth in most countries have considered shopping as an amusement activity in their free time. It is due to the wide range of products and imitating behaviors of young people. It is undeniable that it can boost sellers and the country’s economy and increase shoppers’ mental health.
There are numerous reasons why youngsters tend to go to malls and shop centers in their free time. The first reason for this tendency is that as a result of new machines and advanced factories, there are vast kinds of goods and people have to choose among many brands, types and shapes. Going shopping is one of the most effective ways to familiarize and analyze all products. In addition, the young population spend a lot of time using cellphones to follow their own celebrities on social media which commonly leads to a copy in their behavior and tendency. In other words, young people are eager to purchase what their popular characters demonstrate on online platforms.
Although it is affected by others, I firmly believe it is beneficial for sellers, buyers and even countries. Firstly, The more shopping that occurs the greater income for producers, factories and sellers. In simpler terms, with young adults’ habit to spend their spare time at shop centers, the sales rate increases which results in a growth in marketers, retailers, suppliers and finally countries’ revenue. Moreover, based on recent searches, shopping can play a crucial role in peoples’ mental health. For instance, according to an article from Dr. Johnson in Yale University, purchasing can relieve stress, anxiety, depression and other psychological illnesses by releasing special neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin in the mind. Therefore, it can be a remedy that soothes individuals’ souls.
To conclude, youth are interested in purchasing items because of the effect of social platforms and diversity of goods. It can be helpful from both economical and psychological points of view.
