It is a commonly-held belief that single-sex schools are more appropriate for successful study than coeducational. However, some people disagree, pointing that single-sex schools are outdated. Both these views will be presented in this essay.
First of all, benefits from the studying in single-schools base on the opportunity to build different syllabus for each gender. What I mean is if lesson is adopted for mental features of girls and boys it may be learnt better. According to the numerous researches, girls are more studious and sensitive for emotionally-painted information while boys more pragmatic and prefer figures and facts. Therefore, it is likely to have a beneficial effect on the knowledge level by lecturing accordingly. Another reason in a favor of single-sex schools is a hormone splash in a high school leading to the sickly high attention to the opposite gender. Consequently, the separate education helps to avoid an interruption and save the focus on the lessons.
However, the reverse side of the coin is that not only is school a place for learning but it also necessary space to receive skills for future life. To put it differently, single-sex school pupils deprived of multi-gender socialization. Based on my own experience, studying in coeducational school helps to develop multi-gender communication, understanding and respect for different opinion and points of view vital for the next stage of life. Hence, coeducational school graduates could demonstrate a balance approach to multigender communication and be more mature in whole. The additional reason for the coeducational schools is the fact that man and woman are equal on the current labor-force market and needs the same knowledge and skills. Thereby, students need the same knowledge and school subjects.
Personally, I support the last idea and the most compelling reason for it is that in the modern high-changing world school should give not only knowledge but also skills how to get knowledge, communication and team-building skills which is more useful to do in coeducational schools.
