There are differing views on the issue whether tobacco should be banned or not. Some people would suggest that smoking is basic civil right that was given by the government; however, I personally concur with that tobacco should be made illegal for two following extends.
One point, which I believe to be absolutely pivotal is the fact that tobacco is defined as a drug. The majority of governments around the world adopted laws and regulations, which prohibit the usage of the substance, are experiencing progressive development. If countries want to handle the problem of drug abuse, I believe they must ban tobacco as well. Many currently illicit drugs- including marijuana and heroin- have legitimate medical applications, while tobacco has none.
However, the main purpose of banning products which are added tobacco substance in favor of communal well-being. It is irrefutable that smoking lead to serious health problems namely, lung cancer and potentially fatal diseases. Yet, many cigarette producers agree that every individual has a right to decide what to put in their bodies. Nevertheless, I would suggest that public interest override those of individual. The medical treatment of smokers is often incredibly costly, and governments frequently cover that cost not individual smokers. In addition, laws that prohibiting smoking would be justified.
In reality, the widespread prohibition of smoking is unlikely in the near future. However, given the seriousness of the problems that it is causes, I believe that this should be ultimate goal.
