Smoking is commonly known as one of the primary causes of dangerous illness and death in today’s world. As it relates to public health discourse, it is believed that the government should ban cigarettes and other nicotine products as a preventive measure. I completely agree with this idea for its possibility to improve overall well-being both physically and mentally.
Firstly, a ban on cigarettes would reduce the rate of patients suffering from serious health issues. It is common knowledge that tobaccos contain multiple components which are attributed to the constant addiction and severe health problems, including lung cancer, heart cancer, stroke, etc. With a prohibition on such products, people could turn to much healthier ones, focusing on the improvement of their well-being. This refreshed perspective would not only translate to a more positive status of patients but also lift a huge burden from healthcare systems.
Secondly, limiting the access of citizens to those addictive substances can enhance their mental health. Since it can be observed that smokers can be depressed if they do not touch tobacco products for a day, opponents argue that a ban on cigarettes will make their anxiety and negative emotions much worse. However, evidence suggests otherwise. Numerous studies have shown that the process of quitting smoking is often accompanied by improvements in mood and reduced anxiety. The withdrawal from nicotine may be challenging, but with proper support and resources, quitting smoking can provide citizens with substantial mental health benefits.
In conclusion, the impacts of cigarettes and suchlike products are being rightfully questioned. A ban from the government on tobacco holds promise, not only as a way to enhance human’s health, but also as a potential driver of a developed community with minimized cancer issues as much as possible. However, successful implementation requires careful consideration by the government, emphasizing a multifaceted approach towards this issue.
