Smokers harm not only themself while smoking, but also people who are standing nearby. Furthermore, smoking in pubic places should be banned. I agree with that statement, because smoking has a negative impact on our environment and health, respectfully.
To start with, smokers affect critically on our environment, and it may bring lots of negative consequences. While people smoke, they are exhaling dozens of poisonous gases outside such as carbon oxide, ammonia and benzol, these gases have a significant effect on the environment, in view of the fact that there is a big number of smokers worldwide, and they can cause a greenhouse effect by collecting in the atmosphere. For instance, studies have shown, that every year smokers exhaling approximately 2.6 milliards tons of hazardous gases, that is more than the quantity of gases released from 2.6 millions flights through the ocean from one continent to other.
Moreover, people who smoke are slowly poisoning themselves and ourselves. Everyday majority people are standing near the smokers while waiting for their bus on a bus stop or waiting for a green traffic light to cross the road, and while they are standing next to them, they are breathing the smoke from cigarettes, that contains more than seven thousands chemical elements which may cause diseases such as cancer, tuberculosis and pneumonia. To give an example, every year more than thousands of people are getting fatal diseases due to passive smoking.
In conclusion, people who smoke harm not only them, even so they are poisoning those who stands nearby them. In my opinion, smoking should be banned everywhere and smokers should get a psychological help from their addiction, because it has a negative impact on our environment and health, so there are no excuses why we should not implement bans on this bad habit.
