It is true that in recent years there has been a considerable increase in the usage of social media by people for various purposes such as communicating, watching news, and keeping updated on social events. Due to the changes, there is a tremendous downfall in following the traditional method of communicating with society. Although, there are a few drawbacks of rise in switching to online platforms. I believe the advantages certainly outweigh them.
The first benefit is that, at present many influencers use social media platforms to deliver messages promptly without much delay. For example, YouTubers are passing on current affairs by the mode of online platforms which becomes more feasible for viewers to watch the news on mobile phones. In this way, it gives more awareness to the public
Moreover, companies are using online portals for advertising their products, which hinders in spending much money on publishing it in newspapers. In a way that companies will keep track of their marketing reaches and viewers.
On the other hand, the main drawback of using social media is that individuals will lose interest and habit of reading books or newspapers. Another impact is that social media reduces the connection between society and the public.
To summarize, I would like to reiterate that even though using virtual modes might be a barrier to many in terms of connection, however, it has major significance such as quick delivery of messages and advertising becoming feasible for many. I believe that the advantages far more outweigh the disadvantages.
