However, nowadays there are a lot of discussions related to climate changes and environmental problems. One side claims that every student should know about climate change and sustainability in school because it is important for the life of young generations, while the second side argues that there is no need for this type of education since schools should focus on some other disciplines.
From my point of view, education concerning climate changes is essential for any school student as they will be able to understand the value of nature. They should realize that it is vital to keep the balance of natural resources because only in this way it will be possible to protect the planet Earth from any negative consequences in the future.
However, another group suggests that climate change education should not be mandatory since students have a lot of subjects to cover, and making them learn more will increase their burden. Additionally, according to them, climate change can be taught in science classes or in geography courses, hence, there is no need to teach them separately. From this perspective, the school system needs to pay attention to those subjects that are useful for future career opportunities.
As far as my personal viewpoint is concerned, I would like to say that climate change education should be a necessary subject for all students because environmental challenges affect all of us irrespective of our professional choices. Learning about climate change and sustainability at a very young age is extremely important for making responsible and socially-aware citizens of the planet Earth.
