In my opinion, there are generally 2 ways to decline crime in society. First and foremost is the prevention step. This step involves education and the role of parents. It is crucial to increase public awareness about crime issues. Furthermore, with better knowledge of the type of crimes that may occur, people can be more watchful and take the right prevention steps. The second step is countermeasures. This pace is needed when the incident has already happened and nothing can be done but punishment. Penalty must be given equal to the type of criminality. The more serious crimes committed, the heavier the punishment. Thus, it is not fair to give the same longer prison sentences for all the types of crimes that happened for the sake of decreasing wickedness. Nevertheless, it is essential to provide continuous education to the ex-convict to avoid the same thing happening in the future. This can be achieved through skill development programs, counseling, and mentorship initiatives aimed at reintegrating them into society. By offering them opportunities to improve their employability and personal growth, we can reduce the likelihood of recidivism, helping them become productive members of the community and break the cycle of crime.
