Road accidents have always been a significant matter of concerns so much, so that there is an idea that says the problem can only be solved by punishing traffic voilators very strictly. However, i do not think is the only solution, although it could be effective.
On one hand, it could be help to apply serious penalties to reduce the risk of road accidents. This is not only prevent law-breakers from driving thoughtlessly but also it can warn others people against doing that same. For instance, since 2020, Qatar laid down some strict legalistaion on driving that they cannot drive while any type of drug addiction like alcohol consumption etc. Therefore, the number of crashes that caused by drunkness has decrease. According to this law, drivers will recieve a fine of 200 riyals for motor-bike 500 riyals for cars if their breath or blood contains alcohol, besides having this their driving license will also be cancelled.
On the other hand, the solution which already mentioned above would not have always been a paramount importance. So, they should consider another conclusion for measuring back-up. For example, in 2019, research conducted in the Queen’s land Australia shows that, despite the implementation of serious penalties traffic infringements did not decrease, suggesting that people’s aggressive driving habits were not successfully prevented. Therefore, another measurement is needed, from my perspectives, we ought to think about banning private vehicles, at least in a number of areas. This not only contributes to the reduction of road accident risk but also helps to ease environmental problrems.
To conclude, imposing strict punishments on driving offenses could be helpful, but only to a certain extent. Since this method cannot defeat reckless driving, another proposal ought to be made, such as prohibiting private vehicles.
