Band 4+: Some cities have vehicle-free days when private cars, trucks, and motorcycles are banned from the city center. Public transportation like buses, taxis, and metros are advised. To what extent do you think the advantages of this policy outweigh the disadvantages?

Shared transport such as buses and metros are offered in a few number of states, while private cars like trucks and motorcycles are prohibited from the city centers. However, this carries separate advantages and disadvantages.

There are numerous benefits of private transport being banned in the city for a period of time and public transport is released instead. To begin with, through this opportunity, of allowing people to use public transport in instead of private cars, traffic jams will be reduced as your number of vehicles will be moving in the street. for this reason, people will travel to their work or destination faster and saves more time. For example, when people use normal transport instead of private cars this will allow them to go to their work faster instead of going late because of the traffic jam. Also, you do not have to worry about searching for a parking slot you will just go to your destination easily.

On the other hand, there are several drawbacks regarding the prohibition of private cars in the street. Although it will help save the environment as there are fewer carbon emissions, but it can go so much diseases for the citizens. Firstly, as private cars are banned this would cause that public transport will be intensively crowded. For this reason, people that suffer from anxiety will have panic attacks and other problems. Another reason need to be mentioned, is that citizen that carry any contagious disease such as fever and pneumonia can pass it to other civilians. For example, a person carrying fever in a public transport can cough or sneeze and pass the disease to another person and this can be very dangerous for the citizens in the bus or other public transport.

In conclusion, in my opinion I see that the advantages does not outweigh the drawbacks of the prohibition of public of private transport because, it can be dangerous and unsafe for people to ride a high crowded transport and also it can be unsafe due to some people might be robbed in the transport and they would not realize until the exit from the bus or metro.
