On certain days, people of some cities are prohibited from using their private cars, trucks, and motorcycles. They are motivated to utilize public vehicles, such as buses, taxis, and undergrounds on those days. Although those days can bring some benefits, I believe that demerits are more significant than merits.

First and foremost, all individuals utilizing public transportation can be attributive of overcrowding in view of the fact that people do not have staggered time in most parts of countries. Those with limited mobility such as old and disabled people can be unpleased with this situation. Additionally, provided that many people use those transportation systems, this is likely to contribute to petty crimes. According to a study conducted in Cambridge University, 64% of the whole population in London eschewed commuting to work in public transportation since they encountered unsatisfactory incidents such as pickpocketing and petty theft.

Moreover, in accordance with time, public transit is less flexible. For example, through privately-owned vehicles, drivers can take shortcuts on roads; however, other vehicles are prone to go through fixed roads making them inflexible. Another disadvantage worthy mentioning is that the punctuality of mass transit is less credible. They need to stop at certain stations in order that people can leave for their appropriate destination, which will likely make them more time-consuming.

The aforementioned downsides notwithstanding, the upsides of this strategy should not be overlooked. Firstly, people may confront less congestion on roads as all of them will take buses, taxis or undergrounds rather than small-sized vehicles like personal cars or motorcycles. Furthermore, public transport is estimated to be more environmentally-friendly. The fewer vehicles people use, the cleaner the weather will be owing to the fact that carbon emissions will be reduced.

To encapsulate, albeit the efficacious aspects of this plan, its drawbacks can eclipse the benefits, by increasing the rate of criminal deeds, resulting in jeopardous settings or being inflexible on a basis of time.
