In many countries, governments have introduced laws that limit how many hours an employer can ask an employee to work. The main reason why these laws are created is to prevent workers from health issues and improve their quality of life. I believe this is a positive trend.
A main reason for these laws is protect people’s health. Working for long hours a lot, can expose employees to stress, exhaustion, depression to name a few. For example, when workers are tired, they are more likely to make mistakes at work. By limiting working hours, governments can make sure workers get enough rest and can stay healthy. If workers are healthy and well rested, their quality of work also improve. Another reason for these laws is to improve employees’ quality of life. When people are required to work for long hours, they often have little time for their families, hobbies, and, friends. As a result, their motivation to work decreases, which leads to make mistakes at workplace. So reasonable working hours can give a chance employees to relax and focus on their personal lives which can improve their mental well-being.
Although some argue that such kind of laws slow down businesses, I believe people’s health is more important. In the long term, employees who work less and have enough rest, can show more efficient work than the ones who overworked.
In conclusion, I believe these laws are really important, because they improve the quality of employees’ life, prevent them from health-related risks and help them work better.
