Many people view globalization as crucial to developing the country, however, others argue that preserving native cultures should be prioritized. In this essay, I will discuss both views and my opinion.
On the one hand, the assimilating country brings several benefits to the citizen. Firstly, It brings more economic chances. Learning multiple cultures allows people to have a deeper insight into different perspectives, which can foster communication and collaboration in working spaces. Additionally, experiencing different cultures enriches individuals’ lives. Allows them to be more appreciative of art, music, food, and traditions.
On the other hand, others believe it is more important to preserve one’s native culture. Maintaining cultural identity provides a sense of belonging and community support through shared traditions. Cultural diversity enriches the host society, offering a variety of perspectives and fostering mutual respect and understanding. Moreover, preserving one’s native culture provides psychological comfort and stability, reducing feelings of alienation. It also ensures that cultural practices, languages, and traditions are passed down to future generations, maintaining family values and cultural heritage.
In my opinion, a balanced approach that values both assimilation and the preservation of native culture is ideal. Assimilating into the host country can provide economic, social, and personal benefits, fostering a more inclusive and harmonious society. However, preserving one’s native culture is equally important to maintain cultural identity, heritage, and diversity. Encouraging integration while respecting and valuing native cultures can create a harmonious and enriched environment where individuals can thrive both economically and culturally.
