‘Uniform’, the word is self-explanatory, meaning everyone belongs to the same race. These are designed to promote equality and sense of belongingness towards the organisation.
I, certainly believe that uniform is an essential part of any social establishment, where people from all the spheres of the society are welcomed, irrespective of their color, caste, religion or sex. It is important to enroot the motive of these similar attires in each and every individual and schools are the best places to initiate this. School uniforms are crucial to reduce socioeconomic disparities, every family has different financial conditions but, uniforms ensures that whether the child belongs to poor or rich family, he should be treated equally. Students belonging to same school also develop strong bonds and act as a small community.. For example, my school dress was brown, whenever I saw someone in similar dress, I intend to be friend with them as if we ought to knew each other. Moreover, having definite dresses reduces lots of stress from parents as they do not have to buy mulitple cloths for their children while sending them to school.
On the contrary, people tends to believe that school uniforms infringe upon students’ right to express their individuality but, I believe one should not judge a book by its cover. The individuality exists in thoughts and behaviour and not in one’s external looks. Subsequently, it does have a positive effect on students’ behaviour, as it promotes discipline. As far as the academic achievement is concerned, I support that uniforms does not really impact the grades but, overall personality development is contributed.
To conclude, I would like to mention that uniforms are the perfect eample of unity in diversity. It definitely promotes social equality and prosperity among young and growing minds.
