Some people believe that childcare centers are the best caregivers for children of pre-primary age, while working parents assume that family members such as grandparents are better at this role. In my opinion, childcare centers provide efficient care with patience and also prepare young children for school, whereas family members may lack these skills and not always be able to meet these responsibilities.
Childcare facilities have numerous advantages for both children and parents. First of all, such institution’s employees are highly educated professionals in their field. They have practised and learnt children’s behaviour and health, and how to apply care in any situation. For example, when children are facing problems with getting along with peers, these specialists are able to help them by giving advices and increasing self-confidence. Studies have shown that, professionals in the sphere of childcare are better at assisting young generation than parents. The main reason is, sometimes parents cannot understand the position of the children and to look at the situation from their side, therefore youngers feel more secure to trust problems to specialists without feeling judged. Secondly, parents and family members are not always available when children need them. The adults have personal problems to deal with, and when it gets to paying attention for children, they simply cannot allocate leisure time for it. This puts children in uncomfortable situation when they need them the most. Finally, I believe that it is better to trust childcare service to prepare minors for school. They are able to give necessary information to young children that may help them avoid troubles in school and imrpove academically for them to do not fall behind others in education.
Meanwhile, parents who are busy with career and are unable to look after the children, consider family members as better carers for children’s development. It is predominantly due to the belief that household members already have experience in how to take care of the minors. They believe that, if person like grandmother or grandfather nurtured parents of the children, they can also do similar process with young generation. However, it is often forgotten that, those senior residents are already of a retiring age, and are not capable to look after children both physically and mentally. In case children falls and gets injured, they will not be able to help them immediately, and another case is that it takes huge mental stability to tolerate children’s needs which grandparents may lack.
To conclude, I believe that childcare centers are the most suitable caregivers for children, as they provide professional support, ensure security, and prepare children for school, while family members may lack the necessary skills or availability. Thus, entrusting children to such centers may contribute to future development and well-being of the children.
