In the era of modernization and globalization, most individuals believe that learning a new language is extremely crucial for pupils in school. In my point of view, I totally agree with this stance because children will have great chances in the future as well as community skills. However, some Citizens think the early-aged children need to concentrate on their first language rather than learning other languages.
On the one hand, If children learn a second language, They can broaden children’s horizons. It is a great opportunity to become familiar with international language. To be more precise, they will master the language that they learn. In this way, those who are more interested in the second language and also fancy speaking freely. Take a primary child as an example, Beginning learn English when they were young, then at later stages, they will be confident in comparison to pupils only learning native language.
On the other hand, learning a new language will enhance their social skills in general and communication skills in particular. There is a massive difference between students learning a foreign language and pupils who only focus on native language. It is the biggest barrier in the their later stage when they are mature. In a little more detail, learning a new language will be more difficult because of fear as well as great concern of personal life, family, and studying. For instance, the early-aged children will be more confident in communicating with foreigners than adults. It increases the chance to integrate into the international environment in order to gain more knowledge in the future which assists them to in communicating more easily for a long run.
To sum up, I personally think learning a second language will be necessary for pupils when they are young, which is the ideal time to broaden children’s horizons as well as develop social skills. They are not always distracted with other aspects like adults.
