There is an ongoing debate about the influence of technology on communication between people. Some people believe that technology has negative effect to relations, while others think that it has positive effect. In my opinion, even though technology has made personal relationships less, it has lots of benefits on communication between individuals.
On the one hand, technology reduced the personal interactions among people. Individuals prefer to spend time on techological facilites, such as phone and laptop. They do not want to interact with anyone and prefer to be alone. For example, a new type of technology ChatGpt (artificial intellegence) can replace the role of human by being as personal therapist. People started to reveal all their thoughts, ideas, and problems to ChatGpt because it can give them the best advices and does not judge them. As a result, individuals prefer to communicate with AI techonology instead of real people. Therefore, it is decreasing the level of real life communication.
On the other hand, technology has improved the quality of human interactions. Technology has made the communication available for everyone. For instance, people can communicate easily with other people who live in the other side of the world, with the help of phone. Additionally, they use online platforms, such as WhatsApp and Zoom to video calls. Also, technology made relationship stronger and gave opportunities to get detailed information about one another. One good example for this is social platform, such as TikTok. Users of this platform can repost videos, similar with their living conditions and their friends can get information about their lives and feelings. Thus, technology has made many opportunities for people to interact with one another and made them closer.
In conclusion, some people argue that technology has made the social interactions less, and others think that it has positive impact on communication between people. In my point of view, some types of technology such as ChatGpt made social interaction less, although it still improved the quality of communication and made it available for everyone.
