Some people believe that young children should learn to follow rules from an early age. I completely agree with this statement because discipline helps children stay safe and behave well with others. The best way for parents and teachers to teach this is by setting a good example and clearly explaining why rules are important. First of all, I strongly agree that children need to obey rules from an early age because it keeps them safe and teaches them how to live in a society. In other words, when children know limits, they can avoid dangerous situations and respect other people. For example, if a child learns the rule about not running across the street, they will stay away from cars. As a result, early discipline prepares children for a healthy and safer life.
On the other hand, adults can best teach discipline by modeling proper behavior and explaining reasons behind rules. First, they should always show good example because children copy their behavior. Second, parents and teachers need to explain why rules are important instead of just punishing them. Third, they should use positive reinforcement, like praising a child when they follow a rule. This can motivate children to repeat good behaviour and gradually make following rules a natural part of their daily life. Finally, it is very important to be consistent so children always know what to expect.
In conclusion, early rules builds safety for child’s future, and leading by example is the most effective approach rather than strict punishment.
