There is a conflicting view regarding whether having a big age gap between parents and children regarding parents and children is more beneficial than a small age gap. Although huge age difference can have financial merits and parents will get more respect from their children, I believe its drawback exceeding its benefits because they will have less time to spend with each other and a weaker bond.
Huge age gap among parents and children can financially sustain in their lives. This is because they have plenty of time to focus on themselves. They can secure a high paying job, which can significantly help them in supporting their children’s tution and health care. In addition, parents will be respected by their children because they are not destitute and they realise the dedication their parents had to make a good family. For example, many Nepalese parents give birth in their 30s and this is because juveniles resent people who are much older than them. However, money and respect will be worthless when a family has little time to spend with each other.
Family with large age differences will have short time to hang with each other. This is to say, their parents will age faster and unfortunately they will even have to witness their demise at an early period. Moreover, the bond between them will not be that strong because having less time means they will not know each other properly. For instance, a Nepalese article published that those family who have little age difference are generally more happy and vice versa. Therefore, this is a huge downside which overshadows its good side.
In conclusion, although having a vast age gap can have financial benefits and more respect from their children, I believe its disadvantages outweighing its advantages because those family will not have enough time to spend and thus, creating barrier between their relation.
