Some people believe that AI could boost efficiency and reduce human error, while others believe that all government responsibilities must be in the hands of a human. Although AI can process vast amounts of data quickly and accurately without suffering from fatigue, it is necessary for government to see problems from a human perspective. However, in my point of view, it will be great to entrust data tasks to AI, but people should have done with complex decisions.
On one hand, supporters of AI say that AI could be efficient by processing vast amounts of data quickly and accurately, which could lead to faster decisions. For example, AI could focus on several tasks at the same time without hustle. Additionally, AI systems do not suffer from fatigue, which could result in consistent performance. For instance, people might get sick and procrastinate working days, or they may show slow actions while working.
On the other hand, opponents believe that governance is not only about efficiency but also about understanding and defining human needs. Meanwhile, human officials can see problems from a human perspective, which could result in relevant solutions. As many scientists said, nowadays, cognitive abilities of AI are not developed enough to solve governancy problems, it would be better to rely on human brain. Moreover, only humans can understand humans’ feelings.
In my opinion, while AI can be beneficial in supporting government, it should not replace human omnipotence entirely. AI can assist with data tasks, but complex decision-making requires human abilities. A collaborative endeavor, where AI supports human officials, would balance efficiency with ethical responsibility.
In conclusion, AI can enhance efficiency in government, processing huge amounts of data within little time and being not prone to fatigue. However, human professionals are crucial to provide empathetic governance, proposing relevant solutions. In my opinion, we should use hybrid approach, where people reign government and AI supports them.
