In todays age, it is impossible to imagine a world without phones. Maybe this is a reason why the debate on whether children shall use phones in the school is yet to settle. Though one cannot neglect the pros such as the ease of access to information, the cons of distractions still create major setbacks. Therefore, I am a true believer of “no cell phones at school”.
Firstly, one cannot deny the fact that there exists many benefits of using phones at school. A child can access information on the web, work in parallel with an online tutor bot, and even stay connected with the family. For example, an introvert child who feels shy in clearifying his doubts in class can use ChatGPT. Such usage of technology can resolve all his queries on the go. Also, he now has an artificially intelligent bot as his study peer. Such use can undoubtedly enhance the learning abilities as well as the morale of every student.
Nevertheless, the age and tenderness of the students often drift them away towards the negative aspects. Therefore, it is paramount to address other impacts such as distractions, fear of interaction, and decline in confidence. For instance, a statistically significant data suggests that most students get distracted while using phones during a classroom session. One such example could be access to games and social media platforms on the same device. Moreover, relying on a gadget as a friend in school could steal away the opportunity of developing various other skills such as asking doubts, standing up fearlessly, contributing to the community, communication, negotiations etc.
In conclusion, although there exist few benefits of allowing usage of phones at schools, a huge pile of drawbacks suggest the opposite. Therefore, I strongly support the idea of riping the benefits of phone usage at home. Furthermore, I strongly urge children to trust in the system, make the most of the available oppotunities and blossom in the social bubble at school.
