There have been ongoing debate in the society whether the school should make children’s learn practical skills, they should pay attention on teaching the academic related courses. This essay intends to discuss both views. I, personally, think that students should learn only their academic subjects.
To begin with, the burden on educational institutes will be increased. To teach the cooking and car maintenance, Schools are required to set up an infrastructure and it will be costly. Besides this, the risk of getting injury is also involved in such task. It will be not easy for teachers to supervise everyone carefully so there are chances for students to get injured. Furthermore, Children’s already have enough things to learn. If practical skills are included as subjects, it will be difficult to manage to studies and students will end up scoring low marks.
On other hand, if students are master in Cooking, it will make them not to be depended on somebody for the food. These days, everyone is living in nuclear family where both parents work. If children’s can cook food on their own then their parents will not be worried about them and they can focus on their work. Additionally, this will also help them when they are moving to another city or country for study or work.
Overall, I believe by introducing practical skill in schools will not only increase the burden of studies for students, but also increases the risk of getting injured. Thus, i think institutes should teach the regular subjects only.
