Physical education has always played a crucial role in personal growth, particularly during school years. Despite some arguments that individual and team-based competitive sports are being overlooked in school curricula, I partly believe they are indispensable for fostering comprehensive development.

To begin with, it is often claimed that physical education is no longer emphasized in contemporary education. Some argue that PE could be replaced by academic subjects that are believed to have more direct benefits for future careers. However, relying solely on academic knowledge is insufficient for success in life. Sports offer more than just physical health benefits; they also teach valuable life skills, such as teamwork, communication, and leadership. These skills are integral to personal growth and can be applied in various professional and social settings.

Nevertheless, there is no doubt that physical education in schools plays a significant role in enhancing students’ overall well-being. Regular participation in sports, such as combat activities, helps maintain fitness, build strength, and reduce the risk of chronic diseases like obesity and heart disease. Beyond physical health, PE also promotes mental well-being by releasing hormones like dopamine and endorphins, which reduce stress and improve mood. Ultimately, PE still holds an indispensable role in the curriculum, although the time allocated for it may need to be adjusted compared to previous years.

In conclusion, while the argument of neglecting sports activities in schools is still present, the role of physical education is vital for overall personal development. The challenge lies in balancing time between these subjects, and it should take into account both horizontal skills and academic knowledge for optimal progress.
