Violence problem is one of the most important challenges almost every country is facing. However, whether media should be strict controlled can decline the crime trouble in the country is a controversial issue. My view is that this assertion is partially wise, and my reasons would be explored as below.
On one hand, some support people think that contact the media violence will make the individual effect to lose in the real world behavior, which could lead to an increase in violence. Especially for the young teenager, they haven’t developed a good personal value system that make increase their crime rate. A study shows that with the development of technology in recent years, the age of crime is getting younger and younger. Hence, tightly controlled of rules is very useful to the society.
On the others hand, to completely restrict media form giving detailed criminal description is not necessary nor desirable. For example, some TV include crime, but they reflect what is happening around us. It is clear that TV about this subject teach us to regulate our own behavior. Besides, if we strictly control the media, then we will become “a greenhouse flower” that make us become more vulnerable. It is more difficult for them to think alone.
In addition, the crime is a complex issue. It affected by many factors, such as family, their friend, environment and so on. Sometimes change needs to come form within and not be imposed form without.
In conclusion, I believed that media should be more tightly controlled have benefit to society. Meanwhile, we can’t deny that they are brought about by the advantages.
