In this era, there is a hot debate about whether being genius benefits the society or just exert to much pressure on those who labeled with this . I aim to elaborate on both views and explain my own point of view, as well.
On the one hand, advocates of having an exceptional ability claim that most of practical inventions are yielded by individuals who are genius. No body can deny that some people are born with incredible abilities that are far better than the rest of the society. Since these persons can think more logically and even they look at simple things differently, they come up with new ideas which result in advancement in peoples life. For instance, while Newton like every other person in the world, was sitting under a tree an apple dropped at the Earth, this simple event leads to discovery of the Gravity rule.
On the other hand, by labeling genius on persons too much pressure is put on these individuals that affect other aspects of their lives. Additionally, if the authorities overstated the concept of geniuses, it would overlook other social abilities including emotional skills and etc. According to statistics, there are many genius people who are not good at their social skills, such as communication with other people or making friends. These kind of social disabilities result to isolation and even depression.
I hold a view that while the concept of being genius is of utmost importance, it would not be exaggerated.
In conclusion, it is evident that although people who are genius improve their society through their way of thinking, focusing too much on intellectual prowess can overshadow other forms of brilliance, such as creativity, empathy, or leadership.
