It is believed by some that high-speed internet free of charge should be provided to citizens by governments. In my opinion, citizens should definetely be equipped with free internet.
The main reason why internet should be provided to citydwallers is the rising demand of the internet at schools and workplaces. For instance, the majority of teamprojects and reports have to be done through the internet. However, some individuals who might not afford the internet may not be able to participate in basic activities, or will have to get a credid card. Additionally, these days not using internet on a daily basis means losing connection with the world. Although critics may argue that internet is a waste of time, nowadays this is a way of remaining informed by the latest news and announcements. But people with financially unstability can struggle to distribute their salaries to their primary needs such as food and taxes and the internet.
However, it is important not to overuse the internet as it can slowly decrease one’s productivity. For example, if there is no limit in using internet people might find it challenging to stay focused on thier tasks and start procastinating, as it occures with the majority of internet users.
In conclusion, it is necessary to equip the inhabitants with the free internet. Nevertheless, warning them against the dangers of overusing the internet is a mindful strategy.
