Some argue that job satisfaction is more valuable than earning a large income, while others believe that a high salary results in a better quality of life. This essay will explore both views before stating my opinion.
On the one hand, it is undeniable that high wages can contribute to the someone’s quality of life. In other words, people tend to find a way to become financially secure and can fulfill their needs, even though it does not meet their expectations. As a result, this condition might cause stress to individuals who do not enjoy their jobs. For instance, a study conducted in United States shows that people tends to have mental issues, such as stress and burnt out, when they work under pressure and do not embrace their jobs. This study reflects how important job satisfaction is, in ensuring mental health that is really important to the someone’s life.
On the other hand, working in a field of interest can boost spirit and encourage individuals to pursue higher positions. That is to say, the love for a job allows someone to go beyond their limits, be creative, and be eager to improve. Those behavior often leads individuals to achieve promotion and acquire large incomes. For example, most of the top managers in a big company often dedicate for a long time for their jobs, that indicates how they really embrace and enjoy their works.
To conclude, everyone must have a different point of views relating to this issue. For some people, a high income might be more crucial than mental health, and vice versa. However, I believe that having a job you enjoy can foster performance, maintain mental condition, and more beneficial.
