There is an ongoing debate about whether having a university degree provides job security. Whereas some argue that owning academic qualifications which guarantees greater success in one’s career and helps obtain a job, others consider that practical skills are far more beneficial for secure a good job. This essay will examine both perspectives and present my viewpoint.
On the one hand, some claim that formal education plays a crucial role in securing a job. The key reason for this is that some global corporations require a high level of education certificated, such as a university degree, when they hire new employees. This is because having a bachelor’s or master’s degree can demonstrate knowledge and competence. That could be the main factor why a diploma is essential for job applications. The good illustration of this is the United States, where world renowned brands like Apple, Google and Amazon there a diploma is always required to apply any job positions. Without higher education, there is a restriction on working in large companies like these. This shows that higher education degree offers greater options for job seekers
On the other hand, universities may not always provide qualified candidates. Many highly skilled candidates may not have any certificates to prove their true education level. A person’s abilities can be acquired in different ways, meaning that universities are the only path to learn knowledge and experience. Around the world, there are numerous people who are well skilled without a diploma. This clearly shows that university is not the only way that leads to greater success. One good example of this is Bill Gates who is known as the creator of windows and has never studied at a university. However, he later became one of the most successful and wealthy men in the world. This clearly illustrates that diploma is not the sole determining factor for success.
In conclusion, while university degree can influence one’s application for a job, it should not be the only factor considered. In my perspective, there are many competent individuals who can contribute significantly to companies with their full potential. Hiring new employees should not be solely based on higher education qualifications, as the World has presented many successful people who have become significant contributors to corporations
