With the invention of mobile apps, like WhatsApp and Viber, chatting and communicating with other people have become more convenient and simpler. While some people think that it makes our life worse, I am in the same boat with others, who agrees that our communication improves by using messengers.
On the one hand, one reason is that instant messaging encourages superficial communication. For example, instead of deep conversations, people often exchange short messages or emojis, which reduces emotional depth. Moreover, another reason is that people may feel pressured to respond immediately. For instance, if someone does not reply quickly, others may assume they are being ignored, which can cause stress and conflicts.
However, I think that instant messaging apps make communication more organized. For example, people can search for old messages, save important information, and keep all conversations in one place instead of remembering details from phone calls. Secondly, these apps help maintain relationships despite busy schedules. For instance, even people with little free time can send short messages during the day, which helps them stay connected.
In conclusion, although instant messaging apps may have some negative effects on the quality of communication, I believe that their advantages are greater that the disadvantages. When used responsibly, messaging applications make it easier to stay in touch, save time, and maintain relationships in today’s new gene world. Therefore, instant messengers play a positive role in modern communication.
