People have different opinions about whether broadcasting foreign films and shows is good for a nation’s culture or whether producing films in house is better for promoting own cultural values. While showing foreign films has some benefits, I believe that it is more substaintial if people produce movies and shows locally.
On one hand, there are numerous reasons why imported flims and programmers are beneficial for a country. One of the most compelling reasons is that they provide us the opportunity to get to know about different culture, their values and norms which assist people to connect with foreigners easily. Therefore, when someone goes abroad for studies or job, they can adopt to new environment quickly and additionally, these films are good way to learn foreign languages. Another factor is that many foreign movies ere so educative and informative that it boardens a person’s perspective towards world by gaining knowledge. As a result, people can apply these important lessons in life and make positive changes to society.
On the other hand, despite these mentioned factors above, individuals believe that showing locally produced films and serials are more advantageous. Firstly, it supports
local culture, norms and heritage. Thus, watching these programmes they will uphold their cultural beliefs and feel proud of being a part their society. Futhermore, they can solve social issues in this way and make people aware of different challenges. Secondly, local films are a great option to boast economic growth by creating job oppordunities. This is because movies are prepared by different kinds of people including actors, producers, directors, editors etc. and as a result it can easily create a film industry for earning money. For instance, a film such as Bahubali earned cores of money worldwide and in home country. Finally, considering the above factors, it is needless to say the significance of local Films.
To sum up, I would like to reiterate that local films should be promoted more for social and economic growth than foreign films.
