People have different ideas about learning past events and the literature of their nation. I personally believe learning literature and history of their own country is as significant as learning history and literature of other nations.
There are numerous advantages of learning their own country. To begin with children are taught about their history and literature of their country they can learn where they live and born and by learning the past events and the culture of their country leads to the development of their national identity which means they become aware of what their ancestors have done during the previous eras amd respect their achievements. For example, children who read poems of their countries can recognize great people and the ancestors of their country. Consequently, children can be more familiar with their own country by knowing more stories through studying history and literature which showed patterns of behaviour. As a result it can help them avoid similar outcomes in the future.
On the other hand, learning and teaching other countries´ culture can be crucial nowadays because of people connect more with other people all over the world. In the other word, the level of communication and relationship between countries has increased internationally. Knowing each other can leads to better relationships and encourage trust and it helps youngsters development to make more diverse, open, and provide wide thinking. For example, knowing the literature and history of the country we will examine is essential if we study abroad. Furthermore, studying abroad increase and people visit other countries such as USA and Germany children if want to migrate in the future should learn and study literature and past events of other countries. This will make it easier for them to adapt in those countries.
In conclusion, although it is essential to teach children their own national culture, literature, and history at the first step, I agree with the idea that they need to inform about other cultures in order to encourage them broad-minded to have wider options and choices for living in the future.
