Many argue that the education should focus on teaching literature and the historical background to a child’s own nation rather than other countries. I totally agree with this idea but i also believe that foreign culture also plays an equally essential role.
On the one hand, there are various reasons to concentrate in teaching the national past and literature. First of all, the local language and informations that have been taught for a long time could helps student acquire easier and it is better to memorize. Secondly, it is crucial for children to understand deeply and to respect their own country’s. Without stuying the local culture and only concentrate on other countries problems, children would have lack of awareness at an early age about their nation and makes them forget what was their ancestor did in the past to build up the country.
On the other hand, the international history and literature also should not be overlooked. Firsly, it is importt to gain knowledeges of different culture in this fast-moving world. For example, English is useful in educational system of various schools as it is the most common language. As a result, students have types of certifications of english (SAT, IELTS) and they requires an enormous awareness of experences in many fields as children should be inspired by culture from other countries in the studying processes. In addition, added mixture of states’ history in educational system helps students have multi-view and the updating about the surrounding world.
In conclusion, whereas i agree that local literature and history are undoubtly have a high value in the educational system, it is of important to allow children get to know more about other countries culture.
