City life is liked by some and disliked by others. Some people argue that living in metropolitan areas is a big hassle. While city life does have its disadvantages I believe the benefits outweigh them.
The most obvious benefit is the plethora of opportunities in urban areas to attain a better career. Besides that, big cities have a better standard of living providing quality education and top-of-the-line healthcare facilities that aren’t available in rural areas.
If a person falls sick in the middle of the night there are immediate action services that can be at your doorstep within a few minutes thus making sure that your loved one reaches the hospital in time. Colleges in metropolitan areas have access to advanced teaching methods and a more qualified faculty to educate you to the highest degree. A third point in favor concerns the safety aspect; Living in cities is getting safer day by day due to the better infrastructure, emergency services accessible on demand, community support, etc.
Conversely, Living in cities is expensive but this can be negated by the availability of better jobs that are capable of sustaining living in big cities. Yet another downside is the traffic issues that occur but these are being rectified by constructing new roads and improving public transport like trains to decrease the congestion. An additional shortcoming is the lack of greenery and parks in cities. However, the government is working on allocating certain spaces dedicated to parks and planting trees in order to make the city greener and reduce the concrete jungle effect.
In conclusion, after weighing the advantages and disadvantages, I strongly believe residing in big cities is desirable due to the wide range of services offered to better one’s lifestyle and well-being.
