It is widely believed that men and women are equally capable of all kind of jobs including those who demand physical strength.
Some people who agree with this statement rely on intellectual skills. However, others, also consider physical strength combined with cognitive abilities. I disagree with this statement as women and men may have the same opportunities in jobs that are not physically demanding, they are not naturally equal in physical jobs. In this essay i will discuss both sides of this belief, give arguments and my own opinion.
On the one hand, both genders have the same intellectual opportunities. Furthermore, they are absolutely equal in non-manual work or intellectually demanding jobs like professional jobs. For example, both male and female are capable of working in engeneering or finances, as it does not require physical skills. This is why in some extent both genders have equal opportunities.
On the other hand, there are fields that require physical strength. There, women are naturally not capable of working. Moreover, they ought not to do those as they affect female quite a lot. For instance, in fields like construction and emergency services statistically women make up a small share of the workforce. Therefore, men and women are not equally suitable for all types of jobs.
In conclusion, although some might still believe that physical skills do not matter and both genders are equal in all aspects of work, others will consider significant key points. I believe that intellectually males and females are still equal, but not naturally equal in physical strength.
