Revolutions have improved the financial stability of people, due to which most of them are able to purchase cars, leading to a surge in the demand for automobiles. Some individuals think that having a car nowadays is necessary. However, others think that it has more demerits than advantages. In my opinion, it is a debatable topic, which I would like to discuss despite some drawbacks.
To begin with, owning a car in modern life has proven to be advantageous as it helps individuals to travel from one place to another in a jiffy. Moreover, the ability to commute in quick succession with the help of a car has helped save precious time, which was impossible in the past. Apart from that, the rigidity and robustness of a car assures people to locomote miles without any concerns of breakdown. For instance, Autocar, an Indian automotive journal, has recently reported that in recent times, the majority of people are able to travel across India with their cars, which earlier was quite rare, as there was no abundance of cars in the country. Therefore, having a car does help in leveraging lifestyle in terms of travelling and productivity.
On the other hand, with the skyrocketing prices of fuel and scheduled service costs of cars nowadays, it has become herculean for individuals to maintain and drive a car, leading to the burning of finances. Furthermore, the poor quality of streets plays a major in the repetitive breakdowns of cars, leading people to sell their cars. For example, a study from the survey inferred that due to numerous failures in cars, there had been a sharp decline in the proportion of cars across the globe. Hence, owning a car is not a piece of cake.
In conclusion, although there has been a decrease in the number of cars all over the world due to several malfunctions and the increasing fares of gas and repairs, it has been beneficial to people, as they can cover large distances without any fear of breakages in the car and the capability to reach the destined location in a speedy way.
