Given the increasing need to entertain and the appearance of novel music types, the question of the income of classical music performers and pop stars has sparked numerous debates. While some advocate for higher income for classical music performers, I am more convinced by higher salaries for pop stars, and this essay hereby aims to articulate my point of view.
Admittedly, those supporting the thesis that classical music performers earn more money than pop stars do content that there are many musical events taking place in theatres where classical music performers may perform. They in fact often base their argument on the premise that a huge number of audiences take part in the event and pay the entrance fee, which generates the high income for classical music performers. Nevertheless, I remain skeptical about this as, due to the limited seats existing in the theatre. The theatres are unable to add more seats for audience, leading to the hardship in expanding their salaries.
Meanwhile, proponents of higher income for pop stars argue that they could earn money through both social media and offline concerts. Because of their reputation and the development of the Internet, advertisements provide pop stars with many opportunities to earn money from enterprises and they can get a huge number of young audiences admiring them come to their concerts. I wholeheartedly agree with this as, because most enterprises have a big amount of money investing in advertisements and their concerts often take place in outdoor places, leading to nonlimited seats for audiences.
In conclusion, I am strongly convinced that pop stars deserve to earn more money than classical music performers.
