A school of thought holds that pop stars are more qualified to earn money than classical music, while some people oppose this statement. From my point of view, I believe that this essay will discuss both perspectives and the reason why I think towards the latter.
On the one hand, the opinion pop stars get paid more is attractive for several reasons. Initially, they carry cultural and commercial influence. This might be explained by the fact that pop music influences fashion trends, lifestyles and other industries. As a consequence, this impact creates many prospects and advertising contracts. Which increases pop stars’ high income. Furthermore, another primary reason is widespread popularity and reach. This means that, pop music has a large audience, with millions of fans around the world. Consequently, pop stars sell more tickets, albums and have more advertising opportunities than earnings.
On the other hand, classical music performers should be paid more than pop stars. The most pressing one is the artistic value and performance skills of artists. Which requires high technique, extensive training and a long-term commitment to the art. Hence, classical music has to dedicate many years and perfect their skills. They deserve higher remuneration. Apart from this, artists contribute to national culture and history. This might be due to the fact that classical music has great cultural and historical value which plays a crucial role in the global musical heritages. In light of this, preserving and developing classical music is extremely necessary to maintain and convey high artistic values to future generations.
In conclusion, both sides of the argument have their own merits. However, I contend that people should pop stars deserve to earn more money than classical music performers because of some of the perspectives mentioned above.
